As the summer months rapidly approach us, so too do the inevitable swarms of insects that will get on our nerves. Mosquitoes, hornets, flies, ants, and more will be emerging from the winter homes just like us. But there is one bug to be especially on the lookout for this summer; the tick.
Technically not an insect but an arachnid (like our “friend” the spider), the tick is tiny little thing that can cause a big problem. Ticks carry Lyme disease and if you’ve never heard of it, it’s a bacterial infection that is caused by the bite of a tick. Be on the lookout for the symptoms that can resemble flu symptoms and if you think you’ve been bitten by a tick, have a chat with your doctor.
