The people in the Land Down Under love the beach so much, that roughly 85% of the total population live within 50 kilometers of the Australian coastline. The result is that the beach, the ocean, and surfing are a common and integral part to the lives of millions of Australians. This also gives rise to intimate encounters with aquatic wildlife and people like the ‘seal whisperer’.
Neal Cameron has been surfing for much of his life, so he’s seen plenty of seals. But one thing he hadn’t seen was a baby seal tangled in a net and tangled in a tree’s branches for an entire week. A rough storm and pollution had led to this poor guy’s predicament, but Neal was there to help and keep it calm. Remember to recycle, folks!
